A Journey Through France and England: Culture, History and Gastronomy

The rolling hills of vineyards in the stunning Champagne region in France.

One of our expert Travel Designers, Sean, recently journeyed through France and England—a perfect blend of culture, history, gastronomy and unforgettable experiences. Here's a look at the highlights, and why this combination continues to be one of Europe's most rewarding itineraries.

Paris: Charm, craft and champagne

The journey began with four wonderful nights in Paris, immersing in the city's charm via a Vintage Vespa sidecar tour—a truly unique way to take in its iconic streets and landmarks. A macaron-making class offered a newfound appreciation for the artistry behind these delicate treats, with a hands-on understanding of just how labour-intensive the process really is.

A memorable day trip to Champagne followed, complete with a guided tour and tasting at Moët & Chandon, while walking tours of Notre-Dame and the elegant streets of Saint-Germain rounded out an unforgettable stay in the French capital.

London: Entertainment and culture

From Paris, the journey continued via Eurostar to London for four nights of exceptional entertainment and culture. A standout experience was the spectacular ABBA Voyage production, where cutting-edge avatars and holographic technology bring the performance to life in a way that has to be seen to be believed.

Other highlights included a guided food tour through the famous Borough Market, a visit to the V&A Museum for its extraordinary Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art exhibition, and a classic Afternoon Tea at The Kensington Hotel.

The Cotswolds and Bath: England's rural heritage

The final stop was the historic city of Bath, with two nights spent at the magnificent Royal Crescent Hotel. En route, through the picturesque Cotswolds, a traditional sheep-herding demonstration with working dogs and the ancient art of falconry offered a wonderful glimpse into England's rural heritage.
